Description

Graceland Guest House is ideal for people who do not want to pay too much, but who want good value for their money. The AA recommends our Guest House, which means we have to comply too their standards. Our Guests enjoy great hospitality direct from the owners. Come visit us and allow us to spoil you. We do accept all major Credit Cards and offer free wireless internet access.

Many Visitors use our Guest House as a base to visit places of interest in the Durban area. Within 30 minutes you can visit the Absa or Moses Mabhida Stadiums. Also Ushaka Marine World, Durban city tours, township tours, golf course, snorkeling, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, dolphin watching, horse riding on the beach, harbour cruises, cinemas and many more. We offer free Transport within a radius of 5km.

Accommodation

We have 4 Double Bedrooms as well as a Family Room consisting of 2 bedrooms. The bedrooms have their own bathrooms, some with showers and some with baths. All the bedrooms are fully equipped with TV, bar fridge, fan, kettle, coffee and tea as well as linen and towels. Ten TV channels are available. Two of the rooms have a distant sea view.

The lounge and dining area with their wooden ceilings have a lot of character and is a popular place for visitors to get to know each other. The lounge has an 87cm TV for those who want to watch sport or a movie with other visitors.

Family - childrens Room

This room is on the ground floor and consists of 2 Bedrooms, one for the parents and one for the children with 2 single beds. It has its own bath, washbasin and toilet. The Parents room is fully equipped with TV, bar fridge, Linen, Towels, kettle and cups and the children’s with TV, Linen, Towels.

The Hut

This is for people who enjoy the outdoors. The Hut is situated right next to the swimming pool with its own private braai area. It has its own shower, washbasin and toilet and is fully equipped with TV, bar fridge, linen, towels, kettle and cups.

Seaview Suite.

This room is for visitors who enjoy the sea life and want a distant sea view. It has its own shower, washbasin and toilet and is fully equipped with TV, bar fridge, linen, towels, kettle and cups.

Cottage Room

This room is on the ground floor and for people who do not want to use a stair case. It has its own bath, washbasin and toilet and is fully equipped with TV, bar fridge, linen, towels, kettle and cups.

Africa Suite.

This room is for visitors who want a taste of Africa and who want to enjoy a distant sea view. It has its own shower, washbasin and toilet and is fully equipped with TV, bar fridge, linen, towels, kettle and cups.

Honeymoon Suite.

For the lovers. The room has a lovely cast iron bed and has a full on-suite bathroom with bath and shower and is fully equipped with TV, bar fridge, linen, towels, kettle and cups.

Facilities

A sparkling pool and braai (barbeque) area is set in a tropical garden. Our visitors have a great time around the pool. They can use the braai and the pool whenever they want. We also have a lovely “Boma” in the bush where visitors can sit around the campfire. Bring your own darts for great competition.

A large percentage of our Guests come back on a regular basis. Their reason… the hospitality and the food. Graceland Guest House is informal and guests enjoy the homely atmosphere. (a home away from home) People can’t stop talking about the food. Our dinners cost half the price of restaurants and Guests can eat as much as they want. When our guests’ leave, they do not leave as clients only, they leave as friends.

No smoking is allowed in the house or Bedrooms, but Guests are welcome to smoke anywhere outside the house. We are not licensed to sell alcoholic drinks, but each room has a bar fridge, so Guests are welcome to bring their own drinks.

Breakfast

We are not a self-catering establishment, but meals can be ordered at very affordable prices. (Breakfast is included in our rates).

Directions

Follow the N2 towards the South Coast. Pass the old Airport on your left. Five kilometers past the Airport as you are going up the hill, you will find a turn-off called “Dickens rd / Umbogintwini”. The following turn-off is “Moss Kolnick Dr / Kwamakutha”. Take the following turn-off called “Adams rd” and proceed to the T-junction. Turn right at the stop sign. Turn right at the first robot. Go over the freeway and turn left at the first robot. Follow this road until you get to a T-junction. (Civic Center is on the left) Turn left into Riverside rd. Take the first street to your right called Ndongeni rd. Follow this road up the hill and turn left at the second road called Bunting Place. Graceland Guest House is on the right-hand side.
